Ultra Watches

The Top Ultra Luxury Watches

A recent survey has identified which wrist watches are considered to be the best by affluent consumers
A good wristwatch does more than tell time. Of course, many expensive watches can display the phases of the moon, the ...time of year, the precise second that just slipped away, and can even remind the wearer of an appointment. But the great ones complement your life, accessorize your wardrobe, becomes an heirloom to pass along to future generations and, as James Bond has taught us, in a tight spot become a very handy knuckleduster.

The thought of knocking out someone's teeth with $50,000 worth of watch wrapped around your fist might seem a bit extravagant. Watches in this price category are also works of art. They are exquisite mechanisms created by talented craftsmen who do the seemingly impossible with gold, diamonds, springs, gears, and tiny tools. If you ever wondered why the best Swiss watches cost so much, just imagine a microchip, and then imagine it was made by hand, and you begin to comprehend the layers of delicacy, skill, and precision we're talking about.

That is why at the top of the watch chain, so to speak, the price of a Swiss-made Patek Philippe or Breguet can equal and quickly surpass most Americans' annual salary. For those people fortunate enough to be able to afford one, or more, of these high-end timepieces, the decision on which one to buy is rarely just about how well it can tell time.

For many connoisseurs, what makes a watch desirable is the number of complications it can pack within its slender case. (Complications are mechanical functions of the watch other than the hours, minutes, and seconds.) The more complications, the more valuable the watch. In December, 1999, Sotheby's sold a watch with 24 complications for $11 million. The watch that holds the record for the most complications is a pocket watch Patek Philippe created in honor of their 150th anniversary in 1989. It has 33 complications including the date of Easter and a celestial chart with 2,800 stars.

Other watch fanciers are less enthusiastic about the complications than they are about the bling. These customers want diamonds on their diamonds and often favor larger watches that can better display them.
For both first-timers entering the world of high-end watches or chronophiles who have been collecting for years, one of the best ways to buy is to go with a well-known and trusted brand. But the best-known luxury watch brands are not always the most sought-after by collectors, nor do they demand the highest prices.
In a recent survey of the top 17 ultra luxury watchmakers by the Luxury Institute, a Manhattan-based research group that tracks the wealthiest consumers in the U.S. and the companies that cater to them, Rolex and Cartier were the two best-known brands. But in terms of brand status and overall quality, the respondents to the survey, each of whom has a minimum net worth of $5 million

5 Rules On How To Properly Use Cologne

There are some guys that do not get what to do with cologne. They see the AXE commercials and think that they can just bathe in the stuff;as if the cologne makes sweat and funk magically disappear!Ever see a guy splash on a few different scents?Ever get ...close to him afterwards — I think not! Neither do any women! Some guys are not that bright and need a little help. For your friends that deal with your funk, for your non-existent sex life, for the sake of innocent people who must be within smelling distance;heed these rules on how to use cologne. Your friends will thank you, your dog will thank you,and your favorite organ will thank you too.

No funk allowed!
1. The Easy does it and You’ll Do Her Easy Rule:Cologne is not meant for bathing; heck, even the cheap stuff costs too much to do that.Dab a little in a few key areas and your scent will be enticing instead of overpowering.People should have to get close to smell your cologne — after all, isn’t that where we want them to be?

2. It’s the Heart that Counts Rule: Apply a dab of your cologne wherever you can feel a beat.So hit the wrists, sides of your neck, and heart. The throb will actually add a little something to your scent.

It can happen...
3. The Crowded Club Rule: Dab a little cologne on the back of your neck if you are going to a club or a bar.During the night you will undoubtedly be squeezing your way through the crowds of people. You’ll have an instant conversation starter when you pass her by and she catches your scent

We have daddy issues, spank us.
4. The Daddy Dearest Rule: Some chicks may consider this cheating, but you can just call it attention to detail. If she has a really strong relationship with her Dad then find out what he wears and buy it.When she smells it on you she will subconsciously draw the same sense of security from you that she gets from her dear ole’ Dad.The more secure she feels with you, the more likely it will be that she will open up (and we do not mean through conversation).

5. The Attention to Detail Rule: Some idiots actually wear different colognes;talk about an accident waiting to happen! However,it is also possible to inadvertently wear contrasting scents too.Now-a-days your soap, shampoo, shaving cream, and just about anything else you may use to groom has its own scent. You don’t have to use all Old Spice products, but be careful that you do not accidentally create chick repellent.

Jay z's Got His Swagger Back!!

The first Sinlge from the Collaborative album: "Watch The Throne" by Jay Z and Kanye West named "Otis" is out.

It's a Sample from a classic by Otis Redding and The Spartans are in love with this track. Jay Z is back y'all... That flow that we saw in the black album is back!!

We hope that the same energy and word play will translate throughout the rest of the album but for now, let's enjoy the track. Notice that it has no hook and the flawless switch up back and forth between Jay Z and Kanye West is just too great for us not to give this song a thumbs up!!!

Kenyans For Kenya

Dear Kenyan,

Every minute, someone is starving, losing hope and at worst, dying.
it doesn’t have to be that way ; You can help.
For as little as Ksh. 10 you can save a hungry Kenyan child from death and give his/her mother the strength to feed him for one more day

Drizzy Drake At His Finest

That all-purpose, offensive, in your face type of flow. That's what Drake brings to this song. Just focus on the word play and how the lyrics come together and make you and picture what he's talking about... Can you relate? Probably, probably not... I'll leave that up to you guys to decide. For now, Enjoy!!

Welcome to the Disco.....Terereren!!!!

Of birds in hand, pockets and kitchens.... To love songs with bouncy kicks like 'Mahabuba'. This weekend, Club Volar came alive with Muthoni, The drummer queen, releasing her brand new video "Welcome to The Disco". Curtain raisers included the likes of Camp Mulla and Dove Slimme.

The Spartans graced this event and with all the cold, we must say that the event was off the chains!! The curtains raisers set the pace and Muthoni came through with a thrilling performance. The sound was very clear and her live band backed her powerful vocals with beats that in our opinion were if not close, better than those produced in the studio.

At the end of the night we all felt like we had come from the disco. The Spartans would like to give a big thumbs up to Muthoni and look forward to her next thrilling event....Terereren!
